Sou jornalista por fomação, mas faço Mestrado em Literatura, Cultura e Contemporaneidade na PUC-RJ. Uma mistura que reflete o meu projeto de pesquisa atual naquela universidade e reflete o trabalho apresentado ao XV Encontro Abralic, de certa forma um recorte da minha dissertação em curso. Esta comunicação nasceu de um misto de curiosidade pessoal e profissional: quais são as fronteiras possíveis entre literatura e jornalismo? Atualmente, a objetividade das redações é um conceito que só satisfaz aos manuais dos jornais. É insuficiente diante da tarefa diária de explicar um ofício cada vez mais sujeito a “ficções oficiais”. Nesse sentido, a subjetividade e o artifício literário significam a possibilidade de novos relatos sobre “verdades possíveis” e não hegemônicas. Seguindo esse fio, minha pesquisa investiga como o jornalismo literário de Eliane Brum usa elementos retóricos de ficcionalidade e outras estratégias narrativas da literatura para representar pessoas anônimas. Nessa investigação, parte-se da hipótese de que, ao fazer tal movimento em seus textos, Brum desloca conceitos rígidos do jornalismo estabelecidos nas redações tais como: critérios de noticiabilidade; de objetividade; e de verdade. À medida que minhas primeiras pesquisas avançavam, um outro ponto na obra de Eliane Brum foi sendo incorporado à investigação: a questão da invisibilidade social. Em suas crônicas-reportagens, publicadas em 1999 no Jornal Zero Hora, tal invisibilidade está associada à força do ordinário; do banal; do cotidiano, cuja característica de insignificância, segundo Maurice Blanchot, é marcada por toda a possibilidade de significação. Paradoxalmente, a rua mostra, mas também esconde. Daí, surge a pergunta: como Eliane Brum dá a ver “a vida que ninguém vê”? Eliane Brum é jornalista e escritora. Tem mais de 40 prêmios nacionais e internacionais. Embora hoje seja colunista do site El Pais, escrevendo sobre temas mais gerais, ela foi, por muito tempo, conhecida, no meio jornalístico, como a “Historiadora do Cotidiano”, designação que a coloca em consonância com o tema contemporâneo da valorização do “pequeno”. Em suas matérias, Brum frequentemente invertia a lógica dos manuais de redação cuja regra é haver notícia quando “o homem morde o cachorro”. Brum se debruçava sobre narrativas (comuns) nas quais “o cachorro morde o homem”. Brum também é uma escritora de relativo sucesso. Seu único romance (”Uma, Duas”) foi finalista do prêmio Brasil Telecom. Uma das discussões centrais no meu trabalho será a relação entre o ficcional e o real. Muniz Sodré observa que, hoje, jornalismo literário tem a ver com a prática do literary journalism (designação posterior do “novo-jornalismo” norte-americano). Sodré sustenta que, enquanto o texto literário comporta o ficcional e o fictício, o texto jornalístico pode ser retoricamente ficcional, mas não fictício. Nas palavras do filósofo francês Jacques Rancière, “não se trata de dizer que tudo é ficção. Trata-se de constatar que a ficção da era estética definiu modelos de conexão entre apresentação dos fatos e formas de inteligibilidade que tornam indefinida a fronteira entre razão dos fatos e razão da ficção”.
